- “At my age it’s easy to just lay in bed,” wrote *The Jeffersons* star to her 350,000 followers.

- In February, the actress published her first memoir, *It's Never Too Late*.

At 94, Marla Gibbs still lives by the motto “it’s never too late.”

*The Jeffersons* star shocked her Instagram followers on Wednesday with a snapshot of herself at the gym working out with an arm press machine.

“At my age it’s easy to just lay in bed,” Gibbs wrote. “Then I remember…as long as I’m breathing, I still have a chance to enjoy life. It’s Never Too Late!!!,” she added, referencing the title of her new memoir. “I’m thinking about having a book signing or book discussion event in LA. I’ll keep you all .”

*It’s Never Too Late*, published in February, looks back at the Hollywood icon’s incredible life, from her difficult childhood and abusive marriage to her high school sweetheart to her breakout role — at the age of 44, no less — on *The Jeffersons* in 1975.

Gibbs starred on all 11 seasons of the CBS sitcom as Florence, the wisecracking maid of George (Sherman Hemsley) and Louise "Weezy" Jefferson (Isabel Sanford). Incredibly, the actress continued working her night job as a United Airlines reservations agent throughout the first two seasons of *The Jeffersons*.

Her character was so popular, Gibbs got her own 1981 spinoff, *Checking In*, following Florence’s new job as executive housekeeper at a New York City hotel; however, it was canceled after only four episodes due to low ratings.

Gibbs returned to *The Jeffersons* full-time and went on to receive Emmy nominations for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series four years in a row from 1981 to 1985, when the sitcom ended.

Two months later, Gibbs was back on TV starring in NBC’s *227 *opposite Jackee Harry and Regina King as neighbors living in a Washington, D.C., apartment building. The series ran for five seasons.

In recent years, she’s hardly slowed down with roles on *Chicago Med*, *Grey’s Anatomy*, *Young Sheldon*, and an 11-episode arc on *Days of Our Lives* in 2021. That year, she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where she was feted by *The Jeffersons* creator Norman Lear.

“To help guide a first-time actor through a role like this takes patience, heart, and real skill…and Angela gave it her all, honey,” raved Gibbs on Instagram, sharing a video clip of her daughter with Nia Long, who portrays matriarch Katherine Jackson.

“Nia was a young actress at our acting school and theater many years ago — yes, that same theater where we produced the play* 227* that became our hit show! Look at God… bringing it all full circle,” she added.
