Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's 2027 Valentine's Day Might Look a Little Different for This Important Reason

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift may spend Valentine’s Day 2027 at the Super Bowl due to NFL scheduling

The Kansas City Chiefs will play the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving but have no game scheduled for Christmas Day

Travis’s mom, Donna Kelce, shared details about her son's intense training routine ahead of the upcoming football season, which starts on Sept. 9

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Valentine’s Day 2027 might not be the romantic celebration of years past.

The pair, who are currently preparing for their wedding, could find themselves at the Super Bowl next Valentine’s Day.

“I don’t think I could ever remember it being that late in February,” Travis, 36, noted of the NFL scheduling its biggest game on the holiday during the May 20 episode of his New Heights podcast. “In my mind, it’s, what’s going on? Is it just kinda how the month of September starts here?”

Travis’ older brother, Jason Kelce, noted that this schedule isn’t a first, saying, “I feel like I remember Valentine's Day being close to the Super Bowl again another year on it because I remember it being big news for men to be watching the Super Bowl on Valentine's Day.”

However, Travis associated the holiday with another sporting event, saying, “I feel like I always remember Valentine's Day being the NBA All Star weekend.”

While the Chiefs didn’t make it to the Super Bowl this year, the team won the two Super Bowls prior. Swift cheered on her man in the crowd when the team won in 2024, and commiserated with him when they lost in 2025 to his brother's former team, the Philadelphia Eagles. The Chiefs did not make the Super Bowl in 2026, with the Seattle Seahawks beating the New England Patriots 29-13.

Valentine’s Day isn’t the only holiday Travis could find himself on the field. The Kansas City Chiefs will also face off against the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving later this year.

“I love the holiday games,” the tight end noted.

However, Travis won’t face off against another team on Christmas Day as the Chiefs aren’t scheduled to play.

“No Christmas Day game this year,” Jason, 38, noted. “You will have Christmas, to be able to celebrate with family?”

“Yeah. After we go out and practice, have a nice little Friday practice,” Travis said, laughing.

The NFL season starts on Wednesday, Sept. 9, with the Seahawks hosting the Patriots following their Super Bowl win.

Earlier this month, Travis’s mom, Donna Kelce, opened up about her youngest son’s preparation for football season.

“He always goes into his own routine with training, and it's brutal,” Donna, 73, told PEOPLE earlier this week.

“Then he goes to actual training camp,” she added. “He has to get ready before he goes to training camp. It's a long process. It's months to get ready. That's what he's doing right now.”
