Something's gotta give for Jets-Titans in Week 1 (a streak will end)

The New York Jets will open the 2026 season against the Tennessee TItans in Week 1. The schedule makers knew exactly what they were doing.

There will be revenge-related storylines aplenty, with Robert Saleh, T'Vondre Sweat, Jarvis Brownlee, and Jermaine Johnson II among a slew of names who recently switched sides.

Both the Jets and Titans also finished 3-14 last season. In addition to trying to rebuild and squaring off with Saleh, both the Jets and Titans have additional reasons to fight for a Week 1 victory. They both will enter the season-opening a contest with an ugly streak on the line.

The Jets have not won an opening Sunday game since 2015. They've lost six of their seven last Week 1 games. The lone victory came against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football in 2023 when Saleh was still coaching them and Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury just plays into his Jets debut.

Meanwhile the Titans haven’t won at home in Week 1 since 2010. They've only played five Week 1 contests at home throughout that time period, but have gone 0-5 in those opportunities. Coach Saleh will attempt to end Tennessee's streak against his former employer.

Something's gotta' give between the Jets and Titans in Week 1.
