Catherine O'Hara, the beloved comedic actress, died on Friday following a brief illness, her manager confirmed to Yahoo. She was 71.
O'Hara was known for her film roles in Beetlejuice, Home Alone and Best in Show, and more recently on the Netflix series Schitt's Creek, alongside her longtime friend and collaborator, Eugene Levy.
Both O'Hara and Levy met at the Second City improv and sketch theater in Toronto, where she was born. Levy was born in nearby Hamilton. They were part of the original cast of SCTV, a Canadian sketch comedy show about a fictional television station, which ran from 1976 to 1984.
