Prince Harry was joined by Meghan Markle and their two children in the UK earlier this month, with a meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla taking place at Highgrove House on July 10.

Despite Harry's earlier request for UK security being turned down, it was subsequently reported that Meghan would accompany her husband, along with their children - seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet - despite the rejection.

Meghan and the children arrived in the UK on July 9, while Harry had commenced his UK trip several days prior. The gathering was conducted privately, with no photographs made public.

The sole detail that has emerged is that the meeting lasted approximately an hour, marking the King's first reunion with his two youngest grandchildren since 2022.

Following their encounter with the King and Queen, a source told Closer, "Clearly they've been pretty humbled by everything that's happened.

"As much as they don't want to accept it, their only option now is to follow Charles' rules if they want any hope of rebuilding the relationship.

"Harry's telling Meghan they have to take a serious step back and trying to keep the ball in their court because this opportunity may never come again, and he knows any mistake could come at a huge personal cost."

Regarding Harry's caution to his wife, the source noted the 41-year-old informed his spouse they need to "swallow their pride," reports the Express.

As well as adhering to "all directions from Charles and his aides and prove they can be trusted. At this point, they really have no other choice."

The family's trip to Britain earlier this month marked Meghan's first return since September 2022.

Archie and Lilibet haven't been back to their father's homeland since June 2022, when they traveled to commemorate the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.

The young royals were only three and one years old during their previous visit, which coincided with Lilibet's first birthday.

That earlier journey also represented the first opportunity for the King to meet his youngest granddaughter face-to-face.
