According to Rob Shuter, the MasterChef Australia team felt relieved after Meghan Markle’s shoot was completed. The outlet shared how the Suits alum’s stint became a subject of gossip.

This was allegedly after she had issues with judge Poh Ling Yeow introducing her as “MasterChef royalty.” Insiders told Rob Shuter that the awkward exchange was just a small part of a much bigger headache.

As per multiple production sources, the royal’s time on set left the team tired. Many reportedly privately called it one of the most demanding celebrity guests the long-running show has ever hosted.

“By the end of the day, everyone was just praying for the taping to be over,” one production insider told the outlet. The insider continued, “People are talking about the ‘royalty’ comment, but that was the least of the crew’s concerns.”

Sources claim Markle showed up with a long list of requests and expected every aspect of the production to focus on her. “She carried herself like she was Julia Roberts arriving to shoot a blockbuster,” another insider explained.

They added, “This is MasterChef Australia. The team has worked with award winners, world-famous chefs, and global stars. They’ve never experienced anything quite like this.

As per insiders, the biggest reaction arrived after the shoot was over. “There was an audible sigh of relief when Meghan finally wrapped,” another source said. They further added, “People couldn’t wait for the day to be over.

Even now, mentioning Markle’s name around the production office makes some crew members tense up.” Nevertheless, the alleged backstage tensions didn’t reflect onscreen as the episode turned out smooth and engaging.
