YES, the British progressive rock band has issued a concerning update, prompting fans to send their healing thoughts for a member.
Set for a major tour with five members, the “Owner of a Lonely Heart" hitmakers announced sad news to the public, especially those who are looking forward to their upcoming tour.
In an Instagram post, YES fans on the health status of guitarist Steve Howe, who will undergo an “essential operation,” which will require time for his recovery.
Due to this, the band was forced to make major changes for their 2026 U.K. and European leg.
According to their statement, they will be postponing the scheduled tour, which was supposed to kick off on April 22 in Glasgow.

“The upcoming YES ‘Fragile’ UK and EU Tour, due to commence on 22nd April, has had to be postponed as guitarist Steve Howe requires an essential operation that requires recovery time. This decision has been made to ensure that Steve can return to the stage in full health and deliver the performances that fans deserve,” the caption reads.
Despite the sudden changes, the band assured fans that they are working to reschedule the UK and EU shows and advised the public to wait for full details.
Lastly, YES also expressed their gratitude to fans and hoped for their continued support, especially during this time for their recovering band members.
“We are working hard to reschedule the UK and EU shows to a later date, with full details to be announced after Easter. Please retain your tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates. Tour dates currently being arranged for later in 2026 will proceed as planned. Steve Howe and YES would like to thank their UK fans and hope for their continued support at this time,” the message says.

The unexpected post received overwhelming support from fans who were wishing Howe a speedy recovery.
“Prayers ascending for Steve!! He inspired me to start playing,” one wrote.
“Wishing Steve a full & speedy recovery,” a commenter said.
The same goes for another follower who mentioned “Prayers for a successful surgery, speed recovery, and for all those caring for you, and for you and your family, Mr. Howe.”
“I wish Steve a full and quick recovery. However, don't reschedule the tour, simply bring in a new guitarist and keep on touring as you have in the past,” an Instagram user added.
Although the band did not disclose the reason for the surgery, he previously canceled a solo performance in 2023 due to health issues
"I’m so very sorry to have to cancel tonight’s performance due to a cut on my left thumb that inhibits any guitar playing,” he confirmed through a Facebook post.
As mentioned, YES are set for a jam-packed April and May schedule for their UK and EU tour and were supposed to perform in major cities like Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, London, Paris and more.
