Here’s When ‘Elsbeth’ Premieres & Its New Time

Carrie Preston‘s Elsbeth Tascioni has more cases to solve. Elsbeth has been renewed for Season 4 at CBS, but it’s betting some big changes when it returns this fall. Here, we’ve compiled everything you about the season so far, including the premiere date.
Returning for CBS’s 2026-2027 season are Tracker (Season 4), #1 comedy George & Mandy’s First Marriage (Season 3), Matlock (Season 3),Elsbeth (Season 4), Fire Country (Season 5), NCIS (Season 24), NCIS: Origins (Season 3), NCIS: Sydney (Season 4), Survivor (Season 51), and The Amazing Race (Season 39).
These series join the previously announced renewals for Boston Blue (Season 2), Sheriff Country (Season 2), FBI (Season 9), and Ghosts (Season 6). This brings the total number of series ordered for the 2026-2027 season to 16. There are some new series coming out this fall as well.

When does Elsbeth Season 4 come out?

What time is Elsbeth on?
Elsbeth has been airing on Thursdays at 10/9c for most of its run on CBS. With Matlock moving to midseason for Season 3, Elsbeth‘s air time is changing.
Elsbeth Season 4 will air on Thursdays at 9/8c with Season 4. It will be followed by new episodes of Cupertino, a new legal drama from the creators of Elsbeth, Robert and Michelle King.

Elsbeth Season 3 stars Preston and Wendell Pierce. Carra Patterson is now a recurring guest star. Sarah Steele from The Good Fight has also been guest-starring as Marissa Gold this season, a mayoral campaign manager for Alec Bloom (Ivan Hernandez).
Elsbeth and Alec were in a PR relationship orchestrated by Marissa, but that turned into actual interest. Ben Levi Ross also recurs as Elsbeth’s son, Teddy, who’s now a journalist. Teddy discovered some suspicious information about Alec in December’s midseason finale, or should we say lack of information. This has raised suspicions about Alec’s claims about his troubled past, a history on which he’s built his entire mayoral campaign.
Alec won his campaign, but lost his relationship with Elsbeth because of his dishonesty. Elsbeth showrunner Jonathan Tolins told TV Insider that this leaves the door open for Hernandez and Gold to return in Season 4. Patterson could also return as a recurring guest star, and of course, Preston and Pierce will be back as Elsbeth and Captain Wagner.
Teddy got engaged in the Season 3 finale. Could his wedding be shown in Season 4, and could it bring a guest appearance from Elsbeth’s ex-husband and Teddy’s dad, Mike Tascioni (Will Patton) from The Good Wife, with it? Tolins weighed in.
“It would be tricky to figure that out,” Tolins said. “Although I certainly think that if Teddy’s going to get married, then I would want to know what’s going on between him and his father… He certainly is alive in our universe, and Will Patton’s a fabulous actor.”
Elsbeth Season 3 guest stars included Stephen Colbert, Andrew Rannells, Annaleigh Ashford, William Jackson Harper, Patti LuPone, Michael Urie, and more.
