The family of Misua, known as Jason Elvie Ty outside of drag, paid tribute to their late loved one, according to Variety, U.K. newspaper Metro and Philippines outlet The Daily Tribune.
“Jayson was our dearly loved son, brother, friend, mentor, and most of all, Jayson is a star. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and close friends,” the family wrote in a Facebook post obtained by Variety.
The outlet also obtained Misua’s bio where she said she was a queen from Cagayan de Oro.
She added that her “drag was rooted in fashion, artistry, and self-expression. A graphic designer by profession and a performer for eight years, she is known for creating nearly every aspect of her drag herself — from her outfits, hair, and nails to props and visual content — reflecting her extraordinary creativity and eye for detail.”
The bio went on to say that Misua’s drag name derived from her “grandfather’s comfort food.”
In October 2025, it was announced that Drag Race: Philippines would air later this year, Variety reported.
The third season of the series, which premiered last year, saw Maxie win the competition with Khianna being named runner-up, per the outlet.
