Taylor Swift has a new music video! But she’s not the star of it.
Yesterday, the showgirl shared a new visual for “Elizabeth Taylor” that paid true homage to the track’s namesake. And while fans may have expected her to channel her muse as she did the Hamlet heroine or Marilyn Monroe in “The Fate of Ophelia,” Swift opted for something a little different this time around. The video, available on streaming platforms, served as a montage of Taylor’s work—compiling clips from a dozen of her films.
“What makes this piece so remarkable is its pure devotion to Elizabeth’s legacy: composed entirely of archival film clips, from her iconic screen performances to candid moments, it is a celebration of Elizabeth from beginning to end, and an homage in the truest sense,” a representative for the Elizabeth Taylor Estate told TMZ.
The visual featured theactor’s work in everything from Father of the Bride (1950) and Cleopatra (1963) to Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966), a clear inspiration for Swift’s 2024 track “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?”

Of course, it also highlights Taylor’s extensive jewel collection, most notably the 33-carat diamond ring gifted to her from Richard Burton and the Mike Todd Diamond Tiara.
“We are delighted by this celebration and the care with which Taylor Swift hasspotlighted what so many have long understood: Elizabeth Taylor was a true icon, a trailblazer in every sense of the word,” the rep continued. “She lived unapologetically and on her own terms, embracing her public life with grace and courage while fiercely protecting the private world she cherished with family and friends. That balance, that duality, was one of her most remarkable qualities.”
They also noted the similarities between Taylor and Swift, saying that “if there is anyone navigating the extraordinary pressures of global fame with comparable authenticity and strength, it is Taylor Swift.”
According to the BBC, streaming royalties from the “Elizabeth Taylor” video will go to the late actor’s estate, which was founded to oversee her archive as well as the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
“The estate is honored that she chose to pay tribute in this way, and have no doubt that Elizabeth would have loved every frame of it,” the rep concluded with. There’s no bigger praise than that.
